His Ecstatic Acceptance
To have the deepest intimacy with Abba, Father in this hour is to experience His welcoming hug of ecstatic acceptance…however, there is a condition.
In the second letter of Paul to the believers in Corinth and chapter 6 this ultimate invitation is tagged with a condition. He will only welcome you into this type of friendship with Him if you will separate from the people and things that are soaked in the spirit of this age!
Notice the progression to reach this place of intimacy…
- God woes us and listens and helps us on that initial day of salvation where we encounter Him for the first time (6:1-2).
- Much offense, persecution, evil slander comes against those who want this next level of maturity…sanctification (6:3-12).
- The path becomes narrow and no fellowship, partnership, and harmony with darkness and unbelievers can be mixed into this building intimate relationship with Abba (6:14-15).
- Why, because Abba in His Shekinah glory is planning to not just live inside of us at the new birth, but manifest and walk among us (6:16)!
- He commandingly demands therefore to “Come out from their midst (so He can dwell and manifest in our midst)! And do not touch what is unclean” (6:17)!
- And then the welcome extended is now experienced to those who are totally obedient and cleanse themselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit and perfect holiness in the fear of God (6:18-7:1)!
Why don’t we corporately see more of the Shekinah Glory on Sunday morning is because we have too many entertained instead by “Super Bowl Sundays”….Selah.
May the fear of Abba propel you into a divine phobia (Hebrews 4:1) to not miss this invitation of the ultimate love and intimacy He is now extending to those who call Him “Lord”.
In the hidden room of intimacy,
Scott
