EARLY MORNING MANNA

This time of year is a very dangerous season to be spiritually de-stabilized and brought down into a spiritual sinkhole by the archenemy of our souls. It is during this time, as the days grow shorter and the nights colder, that many people in the Northern Hemisphere spend much more time indoors. Coupled with this seasonal change, is also the change of a one’s activity level to do much less labor since more vacation days are now available to be off from the daily work routine. The result has invariably been in our 40+ years of a post-modern humanistic culture of that of a time in our calenders when people are seductively railroaded into a season of carnal indulgences called the “holiday spirit”. Inordinate amounts of eating and sensual pleasures abound during this hyped-up period combined with the craftily timed materialistic bombardments of consumer sales aimed at all of us to give in to the lust…and upgrade to the latest electronic gizmo’s and entertainments.

As the glitz and hype of this season wears on, people enter into a holiday “boredom” similar to a crash of one’s metabolism after eating way too much sugar. This driving seduction of entertainment does not ebb, but continues until it registers into a sweeping flood and many are found suddenly spending way too much time watching movies and/or sporting events to lessen this sugar crash of the mysterious “holiday boredom”! And behind all of this, is the veteran of many successful past spiritual battles to bring down people repeatedly into the self-centered ways…and that is the devil. He knows when and where to strike like a insurgent terrorist to catch people unaware and blinded by the “glories” of this age. Therefore, if you are like me, it is time to say, “Enough is Enough” of this spiritual carnage we see taking place all around and let’s burn out with heavenly napalm these hidden spider-holes of the enemy! The picture I’m trying to paint for you this morning is that this is the time of year when many people (believers) splurge into carnal living and thus relinquish their alert status as guardians of the threshold of God’s House! This is not the time to go on vacation spiritually and let you guard down! We must stay awake and your confidence in God must not lead to slackness because the spiritual warfare which the enemy wages against us demands 24/7 vigilance!

“Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (I Peter 5:8 NASB)

The Linguistic Key to The Greek NT writes that this above verse is not just an imperative command but also is in the aorist tense which therefore, rings out sharply the command…”BE ALERT!” “BE AWAKE!” How many people out there reading this email really want to awake with me and defeat the enemy with the weapons Jesus has already inaugurated for us? (I’m curious to know…so email me!)

If you are signalling that though you may be down (but not out for the count), and that yes, you want to listen and employ evasive maneuvers to turn the tables on the enemy and put him instead into a checkmate position…then listen up to these two very simple, yet profound Scriptural texts….

“And they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.” (II Timothy2:26 NASB)

1) Do you really want to wake up and get out of the hypnotic pleasures of sin?
2) Do you really want to escape and make a break for true freedom?
3) Do want to continue doing the devil’s will? Or do you want to do God’s will? (notice that your “will” is not mentioned here)

To help reveal to you’all the very dangerous position that many are in and the need to return to spiritual vigilance, I will draw your attention again here to what the Linguistic Key to the Greek NT highlights about this text. “To come to your senses or sober up” is a metaphor which implies some previous duping has occurred by this sequence of events.

The devil’s method is this sequence of events-

1) To numb the conscience
2) Confuse the senses
3) And then paralyze the will

This is exactly what entertainment does…it Enters-in-to-attain-you !

The second Scriptural text I will quote to you this morning is simply how to now make those critical evasive maneuvers to escape the devil’s numbing, confusing, and paralyzing sink-hole you maybe or could be heading into this “holiday”season. ( I can see it so clearly in the Spirit now and I hear the trumpets siren of warning for many!!!!!)

“For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore, I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil. And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.” (Romans 16:20 NASB)

1) It all begins with obedience to God. If you are in disobedience then you are in rebellion and witchcraft. It is that simple and yet that profound… (see I Samuel 15:22-23).
2) God demands us to be very wise and experienced in the ways of goodness and His Spirit realm. To know intimately the ways of purity and to be operational experts in what is good vs. what is evil. And this type of discernment is a rare trait among many minsters/believers I have personally met.
3) God also demands us to be very innocent concerning evil and the ways of the dark realm. The Linguistic Key to the Greek NT states this phrase is to be unmixed, simple, unsophisticated, innocent concerning evil!

The way for God to move on your behalf and crush Satan under your feet (He already did it under Yeshua’s feet), is for you to be very innocent and very unsophisticated about evil! And this is what I have been sounding the shofar about for many years now…you cannot stay unmixed and unsophisticated and keep your mind pure if you allow yourself to be entertained by TV, Movies, video games, Internet surfing, etc….!

It is that simple and what other warriors out there who read these emails want to rise up and help recover others from this spider trap door of entertainments and mixing with this current age?! It is so simple and unsophisticated…. Obedience, Maturity in His Spirit fruit/realm, and Innocency concerning the intake of evil!
