Prophetic Warning, Reconnaissance, Signs & Wonders

The Mysterious Flashflood in Israel Today

Boqer Or (Good Morning Light)!

Shalom Friends and Fellow Warriors,

Earlier today something happened that was so predictive and full of warning that even as I write this EMM to you I’m trembling with Godly fear. I plead with you dear friends to not casually forget what you are about to read, but soberly listen and correspondingly obey the voice of the Holy Spirit like never before! The time is so short!

I was unusually overcome by the presence of God today to re-edit the welcome and biography pages of our new web site (with an urgency I have not felt before) to freshly explain our mission as a ministry in this late hour. I was particularly led to fine tune certain words used on these pages to help bring clarity to why we call our site as Flashfloods.com. The spiritual flashflood ideas of “unexpectedly”, “out of the blue”, and “suddenly without warning”, were in my mind and flowing into my keyboard, as I was trying to communicate why the Scriptures employs these desert motifs when describing the new thing God is doing in the earth or even the sudden return of the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus)!

I then placed a call into our web master in California around 9:11 AM PST (literally) and began to discuss with him the changes that needed to be implemented on these pages to bring out more of a “flashflood” theme about what we are alerting people to in this late hour. We then went into our photo gallery and talked in depth about incorporating a 1999 photo that I have not seen for several years, of me standing in the Judean Desert at Nahal Qumran and the site of the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls. I was explaining to our web master (who has not been to Israel yet) that just one meter behind me (not seen in this photo) is a huge drop off all the way down to the dry river canyon (i.e. nahal) below.

And the background area that you see behind me is actually the mountain wall, that has what looks like, an area of rock that is washed out in a grayish color. I then explained in more detail that this is actually where the huge waterfalls cascade down during the rare flashfloods of the winter rains. We then further discussed how awe-inspiring it would be to see this event on location and get some photos of that same area I was standing at in the photo when it was hit by a rare flashflood.
Now this is what is so prophetic to all of us and likewise should fill us with a Godly warning today…

When our web master and I were discussing this very photo (that I had forgotten we even had since 1999) and the flashfloods in the past that have suddenly hit this Nahal Qumran area…it was LITERALY also happening on the ground in Israel at the exact same time and at the exact same location of the above photo!!! Of all the hundreds of desert river canyons in Israel that could be flooded…it was the same exact one!!!

Saturday’s Flashflood in Nahal Qumran (Photo; Ido Maor)

Then a few hours later, unbeknownst to me, I was in my office checking email and suddenly saw all these reports coming in from the major media outlets of Israel about a huge and devastating flashflood that occurred in this same small area of Qumran with mysteriously only 5mm of rain! Today the nation of Israel is shocked and stunned that four youth were washed away while hiking/rappelling because they did not heed the warnings of not only of the park wardens, but also of the bystanders who pleaded with them to get out of that dry riverbed because a mysterious and unseasonal sudden flashfloods was on the way. Please read now of this tragic story in the Jerusalem Post that was unfolding at the same time I was here in the USA upgrading changes to Flashfloods.com so we can effectively warn people even more!

The Jerusalem Post

“Four young rappelers were swept away and drowned Saturday afternoon after ignoring warnings that a flash flood was rushing toward them through the narrow walls of Nahal Qumran.
The bodies of Dror Koren, Noa Shapira, Tal Alon, and Amit Gottlieb, were only recovered hours after the floodwaters slammed into them while their horrified friends looked on.

Police said that the group of 11 rappelers had set out on a hike in the hills near Qumran above the northern Dead Sea early Saturday morning. The adventurers told police that when they had set out, the weather was pleasant, but changed dramatically around noon. Meteorologists had forecast rain for the weekend.

Ofir, a 29-year-old photographer and flash flood “chaser,” arrived at the top of the wadi about half an hour before the flood struck to photograph the dry riverbed turning into a thundering waterfall.

He said that upon arriving at the cliff face, he and his companions saw the rappelers below, and warned them that a flash flood was en route. The climbers, he said, disregarded his admonitions and those of park wardens who warned the climbers to reach high ground. Ofir said that he and his companions had called the Ein Gedi rescue team, who told them that they would not be able to rescue the rappelers.

“We began to yell at the people to leave, but four decided to continue to rappel. Their friends even yelled back at us: ‘What are you doing? These people are rappeling instructors, they know what to do,’” Ofir recalled hours after the tragedy.

Israeli Air Force helicopter airlifiting hikers stranded in flashflood in Nahal Qumran that killed four Israelis on Saturday.

“We saw the dust that precedes such floods, and we yelled down to them that the water was coming. The flood came right after, and we saw their packs floating in the water and knew that barring a miracle, there was no way that they could have survived,” he said.

“When a flash flood hits, it’s like a bus hitting you at 100 kph,” said Ofir. “It’s like millions of buses’ worth of water coming down all at once.”

“We told them that they were going to die, but they didn’t listen,” Ofir said. “I saw these people and knew that they were going to die, and they didn’t listen to me. I felt so helpless.”

Eventually, IAF helicopters helped the Megilot rescue unit, Ma’aleh Adumim police volunteers and Magen David Adom locate and recover the bodies of the four.

Shortly afterwards, a group of 14 hikers was rescued from a flash flood at Nahal Hatzatzon, also near the Dead Sea, after contacting emergency teams.

The intense flooding also forced the closure of Highway 90 along the Dead Sea shore between Halido Junction and Ein Gedi.·” www.jpost.com

Israeli & Arab sit together and watch the flashflood waters at Nahal Qumran on Saturday.

Let us now examine what I believe the Spirit of God is warning all of us in this hour.

1) “We told them that they were going to die, but they didn’t listen… I saw these people and knew that they were going to die, and they didn’t listen to me. I felt so helpless.” This horrific account of Ofir Vaknin, the photographer and flashflood “chaser”, should say it all…every one of us should feel the madate to also warn people spiritually about what is happening in the world today.

2) In the same way, this is what Dalit and I feel the last 12 years of sounding the shofar (trumpet) to warn believers with a message that is not popular, but is truly cutting-edge from heaven. We literally weep when we hear of the people we have previously warned…who are now shipwrecked and destroyed in their faith. You feel so helpless at times that no matter how much you get in people’s faces with the truth and confront them with the upcoming consequences…you can do nothing to stop them when the Mystery of Lawlessness has taken its cancerous root.

3) The Holy Ghost soberness of speaking in depth with our web master about the 1999 photo at Qumran, not knowing that it was literally happening in the same exact spot in Israel at the same exact time, really drove home to Dalit and I that we need to work even more laboriously to get into the Israeli harvest fields. It is not time anymore to try to convince the Western religious scoffers who criticize our “shofar” ministry and mock us for raising funds to move quickly into Israel.

4) The idea of “out of the blue” and “suddenly” is the correct Scriptural expressions that is conveyed by the writers of the OT and NT in describing the advents of God’s theophanies with mankind in history. Unfortunately, many feel they are prepared for the sudden wedding invite and have their “gospel” rope of assurance they are swinging from, not knowing the magnitude of what is really rumbling towards them on a beautiful sunny sky!

5) This same desert motif of the sudden flashfloods is the exact same description of the return of the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) and the sudden salvation of the nation of Israel! Read Isaiah 59:16-20 and Romans 11:25-26. Study this in the NASB and not the KJV due to the Dead Sea Scrolls discovery and later corrections of this chapter.

6) Because the Messiah is going to return like a sudden pent-up flood…this is why we are exhorted to Arise and Shine in Isaiah chapter 60! This is not an invitation…but an implicit command!

7) And the Apostle Paul takes this same desert motif of the sudden flashflood in describing how believers should wake up; flee and expose the darkness; redeem the time; do not get drunk on wine; but rather be filled with the Spirit habitually! (Ephesians 5) How many churches and shepherds are really going to teach this tomorrow on “Mothers Day’?

Dear friends, I know it is Mothers Day tomorrow in the Western nations and yet I weep with the mothers and fathers of these young Israeli hikers who were tragically destroyed today by ignoring the warnings of the mysterious flashflood that was rushing towards them… Yet, knowing my own personal Mom who is retired and living in Phoenix, AZ , who just two weeks ago told me, “Honey, the churches out here where I live do not even preach about hell anymore! They do not even talk about sin and what is coming on the horizon…keep warning them son!” (She is 74 years young and still bang on target…)

So as a gesture of love and obedience to not only my Mom, but also all the other Mothers out there that have children… I make the commitment to you’ all, that as for me and my house we will not only say we are serving the Lord, but we will do His bidding in this hour to warn your children of the 911 hour that is now upon our culture. Pray for us to not slow down in this mandate…

In His service for your faith,

Scott and Dalit Holtz
