A few days ago I was up on our rooftop here in Israel praying like Peter in Acts chapter 10. I was burdened with a deep desire for rain to come to this dry region and wash away all the dirt of a long and hot summer. This place needs rain and the photo below represents how critically low the Israeli water source of the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) really is.

Then suddenly 48 hours ago the rains have come…. I first noticed it when the Israeli and American flags at our children’s local school began to turn with an uncharacteristic Southerly wind (normally the winter rains come from the Northwest). Then I observed a few minutes later the rapid rise of the huge pounding waves on the Mediterranean coastline as I travelled to my morning destination. And suddenly, CRAAACCKKKK…the unmistakable sound of lighting and thunder began to visit this small country. And it has not stopped the last 48 hours!

Though this thunderstorm activity maybe normal for many of our readers who live outside of the Middle East. It is, however, very rare in this desert region of the world! In speaking with several older Israeli gentlemen who have lived here for over 40 years, they said that they cannot remember such violent thunderstorm activity here in Israel this time of year! (Even now as I write this EMM to you’ all it is continually thundering and lighting like a Oklahoma Summer thunderstorm in August!)

The streets are so clean now…
The air is so fresh…
The vegetation is so rich in colors…
And the people of Israel are happy because they know what the rains bring…

Yes, the rains bring blessings and this dry land needs it so. Join with us and intercede now for the Latter Rains of Acts chapter 2 to follow suit to these natural blessings we are now experiencing here. When it rains…it pours and Abba is about to do something we have never seen before in our generation!
