How To Bring More Excitement To Your Marriage!

Shalom Friends,
Yes, you read the title correctly…we are going talk about bring more excitement to your marriage in the context of tactical Spirit propelled exploits against evil! So get your seat belts fastened and here we go!
Last night Dalit and I planned to have some quiet time together and take a much needed “date” away from the busy schedule of living in Israel. Now I do not necessarily believe that the way to build strong marriages in this age of epidemic divorce and immorality is to always go out to the usual venues most couples choose for a night out (i.e. restaurants, entertainments, vacation packages). Because those things, even though OK and readily endorsed by many, really do not bring about the truly stimulating adventure needed to build a strong marriage in this late hour. They are way to self-centered and lack the necessary power to keep couples focused on the Higher Prize in the Messiah. The main reason for marriage is to serve God in a more productive battle array than you if you are single. (Now don’t start sending me a bunch of knee jerk reactionary emails yet..LOL..I’m not against the above things. Hang in there and let me finish here…).
So what Dalit and I did was get our focus off ourselves (even though we desperately needed physical rest) and signed up to volunteer for the local Police department special operations unit. Dalit was extremely happy to find out that they were in desperate need for volunteers to patrol the neighborhoods during the graveyard shift. Something nobody wanted to do here on a volunteer basis. I love these things also and enjoy to see the fresh anointing shinning out of Dalit when in the role of a warrior rather than a homey wife imprisoned at home by religious regulations of the Middle East!
Now let me paint a picture for you of the circumstances that we were facing here last night.
- The neighborhood we volunteered to patrol in last night has a past history of being one of the worst drug/mafia infested Jewish areas of Israel.
- It is located just a few kilometers from the main Arab gate into the West Bank were most of the terror attacks originate from. Also Israeli Arab communities in the area work in sync with the Jewish drug/mafia groups here to bring in the drugs or stolen weapon sales thru this corridor.
- It is Thursday night before the Shabbat and usually is the most busiest time for these workers of iniquity…before they get religious and go to prayer and the synagogue or mosque.
- Dalit and I are informed we will be unarmed and on our own after our initial orientation. We are given no specific rules of what we can and cannot do as extensions of the police department.
- Crime in the area is at an all time high and we are informed it is going to be a very busy night.
A few minutes after reporting to police precinct at 10 PM, we are greeted by a young police/IDF officer who will take us on our first official orientation ride. Dalit and I are purposely given the “quiet” sector of responsibility and the rest of the officers are not really sure we are really properly trained to be of any real help this night. (Now Dalit is getting super excited even though we both are super exhausted physically). So off we go..with me driving our 4 x 4 nicely transformed into a Israeli police vehicle. I think the blue flashing light on top is kind of cool and reminds me of the “blue light specials” I remember as a kid shopping at the local Kmart (LOL).
A few minutes into patrolling the area suddenly I get this warm Holy Ghost sensation (hint- Spirit of Justice), to turn right and head towards a neighborhood adjacent to some beautiful citrus groves. As we round the corner, suddenly Dalit screams, “Look! Let’s get them”! The officer and I swing around and see three Israeli’s breaking into a residence thru a garage door they had shimmed open. Upon seeing our “blue light special”, they fearfully piled into their get-away-car and drive crazily like lunatics down the narrow neighborhood streets. I didn’t ask the police/IDF officer for permission because I felt the glory of God come on me so strong, so I just floored our vehicle, throwing the officer and Dalit into their seat backs, and thus superseded every traffic law in the country! We are in a real high speed police pursuit just like the movies! I have no training in this style of driving, but I just kept yielding to the Holy Ghost justice surges and quickly caught up to the thieves thru a series of wild Indy 500 style racing maneuvers! The thieves seeing that they can’t shake us off their tails and are about to get their tag number… violently turn off road and start plowing thru the freshly planted and muddy strawberry fields! It is like a scene from off road tractor racing with all the debris and mud flying wildly! We stay with them and feel like we are airborne several times as I power slide thru the muddy fields to catch everyone of their wild turns. I look over to Dalit briefly and she is loving every second of it and not freaked out at all about this wild chase. The officer in the back seat is passionately shouting out instructions over the police radio as backups are called in to build a security ring in the area.

(Dalit and Scott on another adventure date!)
Suddenly, the suspect’s vehicle door is thrown opened and one of the thieves jumps out and heads for the protection of the darkened fields. We make note of it and then accelerate to continue the nighttime hunt! Then the suspects make a sudden left turn and I see their vehicle mysteriously blow up in dirt and they jump out, abandon the vehicle, and take off on foot (Dalit and I are smiling because I’ve got on my brand new Nike racing sneakers and the thought of a nice 10K sprint thru the city and tackling and casting out devils would be another great training run for my next Ironman event)! We try to outflank them, but the officer gives me the wrong directive and we bottom out our vehicle in the dry creek bed. A local pedestrian is outside on this peaceful night in front of his apartment literally freaking out watching this whole thing erupt out of the strawberry fields in front of him. He is wildly yelling to us and giving his directives of where the thieves ran to…Middle eastern style (LOL)!
Now you would think that Dalit and I are also “freaking” in fear, but it was actually one of the most stimulating moments of authority I have ever seen upon her. Dalit is loving all of this and is actually giving the officers directions what to do next! The pedestrian outside then begins to describe how the thieves car just kind of blew up in front of him, (yes there was a lot of dust exploding, but what happened is that their car hit the hidden creek ravine and both front tires blew and the front end of the car fell apart). It could have been much worse for innocent bystanders and personal property as we bottled-necked the thieves into the ravine, so the location for the thieves to be stopped was perfect (thank you Lord for those warrior angels)! A few minutes later an assortment of police officers, army officers, and undercover units arrived amazed to see firsthand all of the epic action they had just heard on their radios. They were stunned, some were shaking, and others were wanting to know where did we come from! They kept saying to us, ‘Amazing! What a first night for you volunteers!” They seemed more alarmed than us! Really it seemed to us just like another night out street witnessing!!!
Now this “date” for Dalit and I had several really cool results….
- The thieves residence has been identified via their car and DNA/fingerprints are now being processed for their apprehension.
- We have great favor now with the police department and this is our 2nd criminal activity we have helped solve in only one month!
- The officers with us last night are amazed and this is a bit of a sign and wonder for them.
- Dalit and I had just had an awesome time of adventure, fresh anointing downloads, Heavenly entertainment, and great gospel conversation pieces for days to come with the local Israeli’s. Word is spreading here about these events with the Holtz’s.
I got thinking today about these events and began to connect the dots of some other experiences I have had that now can be freely shared with you’all. Ok, now let us put all this together for your marriage or courtship situation you maybe in.
- I’m not kidding you, but 100% of the pastor’s wives that come here to visit us absolutely love the military tours we take them on.
- Not only that but they really love to shoot the automatic weapons at the target ranges and would have no problem spending all day and all their money on ammunition! This is a miracle because they would rather do this than go discounted shopping in the Tel Aviv markets! (now that is a real miracle, LOL)!
- I have also witnessed here that the sisters who visit us are more inclined to do radical stealth maneuvers against the works of darkness than the male leaders. Some of the male pastors are such whimps and always come up with some type of schedule altering excuses to hide their phobia induced control mechanisms of why it is not a good idea to get too adventurous.
- I have now concluded that what the Christian marriages really need in this hour is not another infusion of multi-variegated “wine and dine” types of outings. They simply need spontaneous Holy Ghost adventures against evil to build new level s of intimacy, communication, and unity!
(Read the Song of Solomon and Ephesians 5 in this new context)!
Well it is fun to share this testimony from last night’s “marriage therapy” session (LOL) and hope it stimulates you’all to also get out there and let Holy Ghost exploits bring excitement and joy into your marriage instead of doing the same’ole boring routine of desiring the “world” to entertain and stimulate you. It is your spirit man that needs to be stimulated with fresh anointing for driving out evil and not our emotional soulish realms! Serving Abba is fun and adventurous! It is full of legal pleasure inducing endorphins that God put in us to keep us laughing and full of natural medication! If you are finding yourselves in a rut and not enjoying your present state…then look to volunteer freely in your sector of responsibility to help drive out evil and bring some Heaven onto earth!
Stay tuned for the next exciting episode here in the Promised Land….
In His service for your faith,
Scott and Dalit
