Boqer Or (Good Morning Light)!

Shalom Friends and Fellow Warriors,

In today’s communiqué to service your faith is a vein of fresh manna that has been resounding repeatedly deep in my heart this week.  I really want to make this as simple as possible today and yet give you’all some profound things to deeply ponder in this late hour.  Are you ready for deeper faith to please Him relentlessly?  OK, here we go….

Let us now study this text very circumspectly,

“If you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.  When Christ, who is our life is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.  Therefore, consider the members of your earthly body as dead to immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and greed, which amounts to idolatry.  For it is on account of these things that the wrath of God will come.”  (Col. 3:1-6 NASB)

Now let us back track and explain why the wrath of God is in His House right now (if you haven’t already noticed).

  1. The wrath of God is in His house now and the judgment that has begun has to do with God’s deep seated anger with His children’s continual disobedience.
  2. This deep seated anger (i.e. wrath) is directed towards the idolatry of self.  Disobedience is directly related to us not obeying explicitly what He has already commanded us to do.  What He has been telling us repeatedly since we were first babes in the Messiah, was that our lives are now dead and are secretly hidden in Him.  The message of the Cross and death to self is the most elementary staple message we have heard since our first being enlightened.
  3. The idol that has fueled this rebellion against God is greed or covetousness and it is directly linked to impurity and sexual immorality.  Before a believer is hamstrung and brought down by impurity and sexual sin, there is the groundwork secret activity of greed working in ones heart which amounts to idolatry.
  4. It can be safely interpreted that before a believer moves into a secret lifestyle of disobedience that manifests later in impure immoral conduct, there is a driving force of greed at work industriously in ones ambitions and motives.  So when a believer or minister is involved in sexual sin, impurity, adultery, lust, etc… there is the tap root of greed at work that is directly being fueled by the prevailing evil (inclination) as described by Paul in Romans 6 and 7.
  5. The love of money is the root of all evil and when one covets and secretly is greedy for self gain, then God calls it simply idolatry and this gives birth to the sinful impulses of impurity and sexual sins to follow.
  6. When we do not die Gethsemane style daily to our old man and keep our minds renewed to this glorious mystery, then there is no stopping what the lower nature can conjure up and manifest that is in direct rebellion towards God.

OK, that is a simple cliff notes version of a very, very deep subject!  However I will not leave you’all hanging there without a due recourse and path for evasive actions.  We must first ask ourselves, “Am I having difficulty finding the Secret Place of the Most High lately?”  “Am I really setting the seat of my emotions and all desires on the things above?”  “Have I become so busy as of late that I need to be re-calibrated to His mysterious voice and be redirected to the path into the Secret Place?”

A lot of believers will acknowledge when they are in this place of dryness, but their actions to re-navigate to the Secret Place they once knew and desperately long for are usually not successful due to a lack of mature knowledge about God’s Word.  Attempts at long days and nights of prayer watches or extended fasts are unsuccessful and usually result in a religious jet lag setting in that disheartens the seeker even more.  Suddenly the passions of the lower nature start to feel even better than before and bring a momentary stimulus of pleasures that eventually will replace the passion for the things above with a passion of the lower things on earth.  Namely, greed giving birth to lust and a plethora of evil inclinations.

So let me make it real simple for all of us this morning. The location of the Secret Place is found in simple and yet grueling robust obedience to the daily task of death to self as is highlighted by the most powerful prayer found in the pages of the ancient texts… “Abba, if Thou art willing, remove this cup from Me, yet not My will but Thy Will be done.” (Luke 22:42).   If you do not stay in this mysterious zone (Secret Place) of death to self then God’s wrath will come upon your willful disobedience.  I know these are difficult words for some who have been weaned on a diet of unscriptural ear-tickling messages of “self” enjoyment condoned by the contemporary remaking of who God really is in flood of seeker sensitive destiny messages.

Now let’s look at this prayer with more of a Berean attitude.

  1. The Lord God tabernacled in human flesh and is known as the Lamb of God slain from the foundations of the world (Yeshua). He knew of His Divine destiny to bear the Cross at Calvary.  Yet, in that hour He did not want to do it and asked that cup be taken away!  Think about it deeply today….  You know you are at the door of God’s perfect plan and will for your life when He reveals it and you do not want to do it!  The Son of God did not want to do it and asked for entitlement and exemption!
  2. This is what I call the “sweet spot” of the Secret Place.  You know you are in close proximity to the wonderful and mysterious entrance to the Secret Place when you do not want to do what he has shown you!  This is the time not to hide your feelings but let them be known to Abba!  Be honest and voice your will to Him…yet before you draw the next breath surrender your will (old man) and relegate everything in you to obey Him utterly to the end!  This is the sacrifice Abba so loves in His children!  Moving past ourselves and into bondservant terrain of having our will vaporized into becoming His will!  Oh the sweet smelling savoir to Abba’s nostrils more than all our praise music combined!
  3. Those who know this discipline, but do not yield their will to Him ,will mysteriously find themselves in the strong power pull of the lower nature taking them down a slippery slope of evil inclinations that is nothing more than idolatry in God’s eyes!  Soon the fruit will appear of your avoidance of Gethsemane’s secret place when insurmountable lusts, sexual sins, impurity, and greed for lower earthly things begin to manifest.  …And you can’t get a grip on it and overcome!  It’s got you thru the power of your own decision of not submitting to God!  When a believer/minister is found in doctrinal error,  it is always first preceded by secret sexual sins in their private life.  And the doctrinal error is based on simply making an excuse to keep away from the Secret Gethsemane MRI scan.  This is where believing in another gospel of self is erroneously birthed and is then marketed as the new “revelation” of what the “grace and love” God is supposedly really all about.  This marketing will lack true repentance and holiness and instead will rely on these ministers being the focal point of truth (by their dreams or 3rd heaven experiences), instead of the written Word of God.
  4. The deep seated anger or wrath of God is not first manifested in destruction and cataclysmic shakings, but is first seen in how believers fall away into sexual impurity and then doctrinal error to cover up their shame of secret disobedience to death to self-denial.  This is why we are seeing in this hour so much sexual sin, divorce, adultery, and perversion now appearing in so many well known pulpits.  It is the wrath of God in manifestation against the sons and daughters of disobedience.  It is that simple!

If you are having a difficult time finding that sweet spot of intimacy you once had with Abba then look no further than the prayer of Gethsemane.  Abba has shown you something that required a great sacrifice that you were not willing to do and thus disobedience has closed the door of intimacy.  Quickly get back into communion with Him by asking Him what is the cup I have not wholeheartedly drunk from.  Where is it that I have not freely obeyed you in?  Ask for His precious Spirit to strengthen you in this hour and He will reopen for you this place you have strayed from.  But also realize the flesh is going to be weak in this time and want to sleep…so just press thru it and agonize just like the Messiah did!  Make sure also to find other believers of like precious faith who will not fall asleep during this test, but will hold you up in tarrying prayer as you reenter the zone of obedience and give birth to the true destiny He has planned for you before the foundations of the world.

This is what it means to keep seeking those things from above.  Forget about seeking all the so called “glory” manifestations that have become popular this last decade (i.e. angels, clouds, portals, time travel, gold fillings, dreams, 3rd heaven revelations, etc…).  Center exclusively on the Secret Zone of rugged and relentless obedience to His cup He has placed before you.  …And then get ready for the real Spiritual adventures of Ephesians 3:20-21!  Yes, to Him be all the Glory!
